I get what it is like to want to be skinnier. To feel like your body does not accurately represent your eating or exercise habits. To feel that you are ‘less than’, because your body does not look like the ‘ideal’ it is meant to. For years this was me too.
It wasn’t until I reflected on photos taken of me two weeks before I won the World Multisport Champs STILL with belly and shoulder ‘podge’ that it dawned on me: If I cannot have the body I desire after training 20+ hours per week and eating by strict, conventional nutritional guidelines for 4 years, it is highly likely I will NEVER have the elusive body shape I desire.
On that day I made a conscious decision to: 1) stop dedicating my attention to weight concerns, and 2) stop restricting my eating in attempts to morph my body into a certain shape. Instead, I chose to focus on the INCREDIBLE experiences and accomplishments my body gives me, and to eat in a way that enables my body to do what it does best.
I would be 100% lying if I said that since making this decision I have not caught myself critiquing my body or having an inner dialogue about how a certain food choice may make me ‘fat’. But for the most part I have claimed back the energy previously consumed on weight concerns, now channelling it into much more fruitful pursuits.
Right now you might be thinking “but if I am not improving my nutrition to lose weight, what on earth would improving my nutrition be for?”
My answer: To enable YOU to be the best version of YOU.
Think about it. How would your self-talk, life decisions, relationship interactions, productivity and behaviors change if you had better energy, mood stability, clarity of mind, focus & inner health?
My guess is “better”.
Food is a powerful tool that can help you do ANYTHING you are trying to do, better and with more joy.
I imagine I’m not the only woman out here who likes the idea of food being potent fuel that enables me to feel energized, be the real me & live my best life?
You do your best to ‘eat healthy,’ and might even adjust what you eat to incorporate info about the latest superfood or diet. You can follow a meal plan to a ‘T.’ However, the conflicting information can be confusing, and meal plans get boring. Your heart’s not really in it, and as a result any changes you make are often short-lived.
You are concerned about body image, You ignore hunger preferences and make choices based on what you think will make you the ‘least fat.’
You might bargain your food choices – ‘if I eat less of my lunch, I can have a muffin later’. Or ‘if I enjoy dinner out with friends tonight, I will burn it off in my workout tomorrow’. But you still don’t reach your ideal body weight.
You wish your mood was more consistent. You notice yourself swinging from feeling good, to feeling not-so-good. When you feel ‘off,’ it’s harder to be compassionate to your co-workers, kids, partner or maybe that slow driver in front. It’s even harder to be kind to yourself as that Inner Critic kicks in.
Your energy fluctuates throughout the day. You may feel ‘on fire’ in the mornings, but by the time the afternoon comes more like a slug… or vice versa. You’d like consistent energy throughout the day.
You struggle to be consistent when life gets busy or stress-filled. You start off organised and eating ‘healthy’. But once a few things ‘slip’ you find your healthy eating habits begin to slide too . . . which leads to disappointment. You wish you could always be ‘on the wagon’.

To receive the best value, I ask you to commit to the full program. However, if — after paying for the full package — you come to the first session and for some reason really do not wish to continue, I will cancel and refund the remaining sessions.

ARE WE A GOOD FIT?
WORKING WITH ME MAY NOT BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF:
What you are really wanting to focus on is weight loss. Whilst the work we do does support easier long term healthy weight management [via higher levels of energy, an improved metabolism, reduced inflammation, less cravings and less nutrient deficiencies that make moderate eating difficult], health & feeling good to be the best version of you is the focus, NOT weight loss.
You are not able to invest in the time needed for preparing your own meals and snacks. NOTE: 1) add on cooking lessons are available, & 2) if someone else in your household does most of the cooking I recommend you talk to me about working together as a two-some as it is vital the person who is actually cooking is on board with any change too.
You are not interested in slowly transitioning the contents of your pantry and fridge to more nutrient rich options at this time. NOTE: Add on grocery shopping tours are available.
You are not able to let go of prior “knowledge” around how you “should eat”. This is a tough one, and it’s not your fault. We have been conditioned by society and even nutrition professionals to believe we “shouldn’t eat x” for a variety of reasons - most of which stem from fears of weight gain. I get it, but for my recommendations to help you achieve long term success you will need to be open to trying new ways of thinking about food and eating.
